The Lizard

At the begining of July, John and Sara were staying with us for a few days before they began making their way west to California.
They have a chameleon, which was quite a novelty for us.
(Sara lower left, chameleon center, Morgan peaking thru on the lower right)

Mom and Morgan checking out the chameleon during feeding time.

Though it's pretty difficult to see, the chameleon is making it's move on a worm.

Yeah! What's up now?!?!

Water Party

At the end of June, we were invited over to the neighbor's for a birthday party. Apparently everyone was supposed to bring their own water gun, because there were an awful lot there, so we just hijacked some and got down to business!

This one had a backpack full of water and required a man on pump duty.

The coolest thing is how they take a huge tarp and stake in on the hill, then run sprinklers on it for some slide action! We got Morgan on a tube and...

...there he goes!

Later on we had a standoff, Morgan's gun was a battery operated automatic, while I had a pumper gun, so I lost the duel.

After the water party was over, we went home and had to eat, because Morgan was too busy playing to eat at the party.

And he was pretty zonked after all that fun!

At the End of the Rainbow

September was a poor month for blog releases, but I'm queuing (yes that's how you spell it!) some up, so there's no reason why October shouldn't be a harvest of summer stories!

Sass

It might be nice if I told stories on occasion, but I just don't think to do it. Primarily, I let the pictures drive the words.
However, I have a particularly fun story that I don't want to lose.
Morgan has been giving a bit of back talk of late. Somehow, Miss and I got into an auto-response where we'd go back and forth with him. The other day we realized what was going on and decided to shut Morgan down. We explained that there would be no more 'back talk'.
While Miss and I were eating dinner, Morgan was in the living room giving lip about something and I warned him that "He'd go to timeout if there was anymore back talk." He replied, "You're the back talk." I said, "That'll do" and I scooped him off to a 4 min timeout.
Of course, when I returned to the dinner table with Missy, I was laughing my butt off.

Hanging Out Back

Out in the backyard I came across a little something...check out the tiny little toad at Morgan's feet. It's great to be able to show Morgan all these things, but inevitably he wants to keep them or take them in the house.

Then the toad took a picture of Morgan, while Morgan was telling him about all the great things that he had planned for them for the rest of the evening.

Morgan and Grandma enjoying the evening as it winds down.

I've once again caught up with all the pictures that are downloaded to the cpu (thru mid-June). I'll have to sync the camera (which last time I looked, had over 400 pics on it) and get cranking again!!

The Vistor

Our friends John and Sara went to San Diego for a week and we were happy to dog sat Clementine for them. Nacho was less certain about this decision...

Just another lazy weekend start

Laying low with the monkey (donkey kong) monster truck

Clementine settled right in...to Nacho's bed!

Meanwhile, Morgan decided to color some pictures for Clementine.

...And Nacho resigned to the role of a good host and forfeited his bed.

Pre-school Graduation

The thing about a November birthday, is you're going to be the old kid in your grade. When it comes to starting school, it means that you'll have to do pre-school for 2 yrs because of the Sept 1st cutoff. Oh well...this will take some getting used to for me because I was always the young kid in my grade.

For graduation, the kids learned a ton of patriotic songs. Here is an animated 'Grand Old Flag'. This was all so great because Morgan loves American Flag and all the patriotic songs. I picked up a cd from the library and we listen to it in the car often. I will never get tired of listening to Morgan sing the songs.

Getting his diploma.

Patiently waiting amidst some transition.

The kids all joined hands to sing 'We Are The World'.
