January - Back in RI

Although we tell Morgan not to stand on the chairs, this particular shot came about because he is shaking his bum at me. I don't recall exactly what possessed him to do it, but kids seldom need a reason anyway...

This is one of my favorite shots, in fact I had my headphones out yesterday for use while Morgan was resting and he found them and put them on again. It won't get old.

I admit the lighting here isn't ideal...we're looking at Morgan taking a picture with his camera of all his race cars that he has lined up on the kitchen counter.

A break from creativity (coloring a picture for mom).

Morgan wanted to arrange the blocks, this is what he came up with..

His subsequent effort sought greater heights, accompanied by pleasant smiles...

...and song!

He may or may not be talking to the blocks here, either way, it's pretty cute.

Just another Saturday morning in pj's!

It's Snow Fun Being in Buffalo

During our holiday stay in Buffalo, the city got dumped on...AND THAT'S WHAT WE CAME FOR!! We didn't pack our winter bin, so it could stay in the van!

There is an excellent bike path behind the house where we can walk, play and photo pose :)

The snow had been plowed into a huge mound, which we found perfect for tunnelling.

I may have gotten Morgan in a little over his head...

Rest assured everything looks better with a little perspective.

The snow was quite deep, fortunately for Morgan, he had snow shoes to stay on top, I did not.

I forget what we were looking at, but by the look on Morgan's face, it was probably one of the following: 1) Grandma getting home from work, 2) Nacho eating tiny pellets or 3) deer passing by with monkey's hanging from their antlers

Oh, that's right! It was #3, because look, we came across deer tracks!

Along with the deer tracks, Morgan encountered deer pellets, which are a superb treat on the cold trail...just kidding...deer pellets are adequate nourishment at best - don't tell Nacho!

Hula Madness

I'll intro about something that has nothing to do with the rest of this post, but if I don't put it down now, I probably won't share it...if you're not familiar with a butterfly needle, then click on the words and go check it out. Morgan had his 3 yr checkup a few weeks ago, despite being 3 months removed from his 3rd birthday. They needed to draw some blood and they used a butterfly needle. Morgan was amazing, I was so nervous for him, but he was incredible. After it was over he said "that airplane with the sharp thing hurts me". Go back and look at the pic of the butterfly needle...

Here's a shot of a Rhode Island living room, we've got (clockwise from the left) Grandma, Nacho, Grandpa and Morgan...but do you know what the focus here is?? The two hula hoops to the left of the television!!

Now we're wisked away to a Buffalo living room, where we have Aunt Pat getting involved with the hoop.

Next up, Aunt Nancy showed off her hoop skills...

...and hooped her sweater right off!

Lastly, Phil showcasing that he had indeed inherited the hoop gene from his mother.

And here we are again in RI...where Mom is off to hoop class. Did all that Buffalo hooping really happen or is it just a story that Morgan drew on his doodle? Does that hoop have the pattern of a cheshire cat smile...

Xmas in Buffalo

On 12/26, we headed to Buffalo to round out our holiday road trip. Here we have Morgan opening a Cranium game called Caribou Island. He first played it at our neighbors and loved it. My favorite is when Morgan says "I wasn't peeking"....um, right....kind of a dead give away buddy.

He also received a wealth of Cars The Movie cars, which have some online aspect to them, so we went to the website to create our own car.

Here Aunt Pat is reading Morgan's favorite story, Three Little Pigs. This particular version was the most true. Therefore making it the most inappropriate for children. Here's the scoop, the first two little pigs don't make it to the third pigs house...
For a much happier story, check out the Three Little Bops, one of my personal favs!

Morgan also received a "fishing" game which was Cars themed, which led to Papa and him fishing for tires.

Last year, this dinosaur was Morgan's nemesis. He wouldn't go near it, if it was near you, he wouldn't come to you. This year, a different story...he was the dinosaur's accomplice in terror. Papa's going to lose some toes!!

This "Let it Snow" decoration plays 'We wish you a Merry Christmas'. Kids like songs and Morgan played this tirelessly, but he sang along too, so that was fun.

Morgan also received a remote control car that has vacuum suction to the wall surface. It was captivating.

Eyes glued to the ceiling

Morgan brought his camera to Xmas. Here he is showing Phil how to work it.

As is common in relationships, eventually there is a power struggle and one partner turns on the other. We are witnessing the fall of the Morgan/dinosaur era. Morgan is stomping the last breath of life from the dinosaur...so tragic.
