Around the House for Mother's Day

Here we have a Mom appreciation blog...Mom, Morgan appreciates you posing with all the stuffed animals.

It was very hard work to construct Mom in this way.
Now stay still or the Jeep will run you down!!

Morgan stepped outside to evaluate some helicopters flying over.

And now look, he's all ready to go to swim class...oh wait, except for the part where you can see the brown cuffs of his pj pants sticking out from under his swim trunks...great!

Morgan sweats like...well, I don't really know, but it's a lot. If you look at his pillow you can see the huge sweat mark. This is early spring!! (Present day, we have an A/C unit in his window.)

When I got to this picture, I had to call Mom in to ask what it was a picture of...because I didn't take these pictures, though in a way, I did help make them possible. If you notice, all the lower shelves are empty...that's where we keep Morgan's things.

Here's a picture of where the ottoman belongs...where could it be?

This is Morgan's mother's day surprise!! The only thing that Mom wanted for mother's day was to stay in her room, undisturbed until noon. I sat at the dining room table, read the Sunday paper and Morgan...well...he compiled some things.

So this may lead Mom to alter her mother's day request for next year.

Spring is Here

The following post features photos from April...

Occasionally within spring you'll catch a really nice warm day, which draws out countless ladybugs. This occurrence does not please Morgan. He wants them off the deck immediately!

And down thru the slits between the planks!

On the surface this looks like a cute picture of Morgan with a flower - that's how I had to sell it to him in order to take the shot - but you know what I'm really taking a picture of here?? His right pant leg being all wet! We were down at the creek and he knelt down on some rocks, then he moved and knelt right into the water. When we got home he started to take his pants off, but I made him keep them on for this picture :)

A coworker of mine gave us these little containers of goo with plastic bugs in them. Morgan had a great time with it...Us as parents cleaning it up - not so much.

Another picture that unfolded by me having to run and get the camera, he started hanging all over so I wanted to snap it. I forget how he was positioned originally, but I remember thinking 'shoot, this pose isn't as good as the one before I ran to get the camera.'

Sometimes I like to take odd angle shots, just to see. I like how this worked out.

Morgan consoling Nacho in his bed, after apparently hitting a soccer ball onto his bed with the hockey stick that is laying across his leg. Thanks for being a good sport Nacho!

Acrobatics, Floods and Sunshine

When I first saw this picture on the camera, I didn't think much of it, but it's the context that makes it fun...

That goofball! Honestly where does he get it from?

Now that we're months removed from the floods, I'll post our pics from the madness...the exact opposite of instant gratification. :(
Here we are on the bridge at the waterfall by our house.

This was my favorite one.
You see the yellow lines here? That's the top of the fence at the little league field!

After a few days, Morgan was feeling sun deprived and sought an 'up close and personal' moment with a light source at his level.

Ohhhhhh, bask in those artificial rays!

Once sunlight returned, it was out to the porch for snacks!

See you in another 200 years floods!

Lazy Days

I don't know how these pics all came to be, but it's pretty clear what the sentiment of the household was during this period.

Morgan and Monkey catching a break

Nacho taking over the Elmo couch

...And Morgan reciprocating by taking over Nacho's bed.

Somehow, I end up facedown on the bed, during which, Nacho pins my head and Morgan pins my body. Quite a wrecking crew! Er...I mean, isn't this a cute snuggling picture??

Lastly, Mom and Morgan zonked out in Morgan's bed.

Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day...TO REST!!

Blocks and St. Pat's

I know, I know another picture of some block arrangement that Morgan made...but the story on this one isn't about the blocks so much as it is about him. If you look closely, you can see that Morgan is standing to the right of the white shelves. I was going to take a picture for Mom, to show her all of Morgan's hard work while she was out, but Morgan insisted that there be a pic of just the blocks first, then he would accompany it.

This was very serious.

We had no shortage of Guinness swag from the bar. Morgan got one item for every pint he drank, if you're counting along, that's 4 pints. He's no slouch.

Rockin' the tats!

Flex it baby!

Fun with Dad...

...and fun with Mom!

Play hard, crash hard.

At the point the above picture was taken, we were only hours away from a stomach bug that would tear through all of us over the course of the next 4 days, beginning with Morgan vomitting at 3am. I must have misplaced those pictures...

A leprachun!

Lastly, Morgan wearing my medal (everyone gets one) from the St. Pats 5k that I ran. I also wore that hat during the race, which undoubtly enhanced my time rather than damaged it.

Chrysalis

The most important meal of the day? Breakfast! It's also the only meal that Morgan will stay at the table to eat, start to finish.

Here is a picture from when Morgan was a wee little lad. This outfit had cocoon-like powers.

And here's our beautiful butterfly!!

Who is that masked man?

A smile pose with the playdoh collage.

What a masterpiece!?!?

Ice Skating

Some junk mailer sent Missy return address labels. It's kind of annoying because they never spell her first name correctly, so she rejects them. Morgan is a direct benefactor of this situation.

We had an opportunity to go ice skating and thought it would be great to get Morgan some exposure, since kids are generally fearless. Despite Morgan's 'enlarged hand syndrome', he maintained good spirits.

Here, we've just informed Morgan that we misplaced his hand shrinking medicine. So understandably, he is no longer excited about going out among strangers.

Eventually, we recovered the medicine and Morgan's hands returned to a tiny state, but he was still a little self conscious, so he stayed close to Mom.

Finally, Morgan braved the ice on his own...notice how his 'skates' look a lot like regular shoes...that's a no-no. Off the ice my friend!

Unfortunately, no amount of hugs can make up for not putting skates on, sorry partner. There's always next year!
