Xmas in Syracuse

Note: I didn't actually post this on 2/25, but I had to update the post date to something in order for it to appear in the proper order.
On Christmas, we headed out to the Davis' of Syracuse for the day. That's right Morgan, get your rest, excitement is on the horizon...

Shortly after Morgan woke up, he was quickly engaged in a battle with Grandpa Jim. Morgan gets all giggly and laughing, but he's got to protect against Grandpa's right slap!

Morgan decides to go for a head shot, only to leave the body WIDE open! Oh! Look at the right fist coming in below...

Morgan then thought it would be a good idea to drape his hands in his stinky socks and get some revenge on Grandpa!

When I was younger, I remember my Uncle's being excellent jugglers, so I had been baiting Morgan with this knowledge for at least a week leading up the Syracuse trip. Uncle Rob will kick off the entertainment portion of Xmas!

Quinn showcased his baseketball spinning talent!

Uncle Dan succeeded in juggling his way to fame as well!

Woo hoo!

Xmas in Rochester

Look at Morgan all grown up! Not quite, it's Morgan's cousin Nolan. We're on our way to see a large train display.

Here we are at The Garden Factory for the trains, my father is pointing something out to Morgan, who is right below him with a black hat on his head.

Some silly holiday hats!

Nolan's not to sure about the character in the red hat.
Morgan on the other hand is too focused on his Xmas cookie.

The annual throwing of kids onto the bed!

With Morgan, it's more of a gentle placing.
Look out! Nolan's head is at the bottom of the frame! Attack on the camerawoman!

Morgan's mom is showing the boys some pictures on her computer, while Shannon and my mom are chatting in the background.

A quick pose with Morgan and mom. I think mom looks pretty good here!

Xmas Eve/Xmas Morning

Since we were going to be in NY on 12/25, Santa was nice enough to come to RI before we left. Morgan left out a plate of cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Morgan was a big fan of the cookies, he thought Santa would be too!

You know who we haven't seen in awhile?
Mom!

The morning after Santa came!! (Not tired at all...nope, no bags under the eyes) Beyond the table and chairs behind Morgan is the sliding glass door, can you see all the sunlight? ;)

Morgan was nice enough to help me open my presents too!

Thoroughly passed out, too much excitement for one day...and it's only the beginning.

Relaxing/Log rolling

And...Morgan's the big winner of the wishbone!! The prize? Confusion. I don't ever remember there being great stakes involved in wishbone duels.

Hey! What's going on!? Just Morgan racing cars on the counter...

Here we are in the office watching Pixar's shorts, Morgan is mesmerized by Mater's Tall Tales.

This setup is ridiculous, he was barely supporting himself.

It didn't get any better in the living room, where he came upon a foam roller while watching more Pixar shorts.

I decided to get involved here and develop the initiative that Morgan was showcasing.

Of course, he's not completely comfortable yet, but we'll get there!

Santa Hayride/Decorating Xmas Tree

Hey, welcome back! I'll say...this really never goes the way that I intend. I certainly didn't think that I'd be getting my first post up on Friday.
Here we are, out in Wickford for a Santa hayride.

Morgan decided he was going to walk, but we brought the stroller anyway and he took the lead in pushing it.

Before long, he resigned to riding in the stroller. It was quite a chilly nite and the line was longer than I cared to deal with, so despite coming out to hop on a hayride, all we got was the smell of horse poo. We did see the horse drawn hayride but we only ended up walking a little and stopping to listen to a few carolers, which Morgan enjoyed thoroughly.

Here is the latest Wild Colonial shirt...one size fits all!

Now for tree decorating, Morgan was a very active participant this year. My least favorite part was when Morgan took a glass ornament and held it a little too tight such that it broke in his hand and sliced his thumb. Fortunately, it was one of those cuts where a person doesn't even realize they are cut, so I was the only one freaking out, but I got a band-aid and the blood was contained. Morgan was more amazed than anything, which was just fine by me.

Hanging 'em up

The tree might be a little bottom heavy. Perhaps next year, as Morgan grows, the ornaments will be concentrated in the middle.

Here's Morgan's first crack at a wishbone (from a Stop & Shop rotisserie chicken). Stay tuned to see how it goes!

Teaser!

Can you believe your eyes? Could it possibly be? Is there a new post? Well my friends, after a 6 week hiatus, this is only the tip of the iceberg...I have queued up 9 posts worth of activity. Do you know why?? It's simple really...it's because I won't be going to work!!

So get ready to see some pics, read some gibberish and hopefully be entertained!!
See you soon!

The Big 3!!

This will be the last post of the year! Hope you've all enjoyed catching up with us and welcome to the newcomers via our Christmas card.

Morgan turned 3 at the end of November. On the invite list was only 1 kid younger than him, therefore, he was the 2nd shortest and didn't stand much of a chance at Ele-fun.

Maeve was king (or queen) of the little people.

Morgan received many nice gifts, predominantly centered around Disney's Cars.

Patrick (2 yrs old) mastered the party blowouts!

Then the two of them dove into Morgan's new Leapfrog computer.

Morgan and Mom before the madness.

Parties are tough with young kids because of the "nap factor". We elected to skip Morgan's nap and have a 2pm party. Everything was fine until after the guests left, we sat down for dinner and Morgan became a demon possessed because he was overtired. Mom rubbed his back and he fell asleep on her lap at the dinner table at 7pm.

Then we transferred him to his new "big boy bed" (a twin mattress).

...And snapped a few more photos, because he was out cold!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday! I don't know what pics are in the queue, but this is us thru November. Enjoy!
