Creative Entertainment

Kids (or boys) like to build things. It doesn't matter with what. When my sister and I were little, we made thrones out of 4 packs of toilet paper at our Aunt and Uncle's house.

Here we have old yogurt cups for some wall and tower constructing.

Something like a pyramid.

And they all fall down!

Welcome to the cone of silence

Morgan actually helped me build this for awhile, then it was taller than him.

We built this while everyone else was out in the living room. When I called them in, they wondered how I was able to keep Morgan so content in isolation. (Thanks Leapster)

And the extraction out the top, to avoid destroying the silo.

Xmas Morning, Snow Fun

Happy St. Pat...err...Merry Christmas!

Criss-Cross Crash was a little loud, but lived up to its name and was full of excitement!

By mid-morning we were bundled up and having plenty of outdoor fun.

Posing on top of the hill.

Headed down!

Woo Hoo!

Morgan's winter revelation: I like eating snow.

Just Dance

Last year it was hoopin'. This year it's dancin' on the Wii, so strap in and start groovin'!!

Mom and Aunt Nancy working it to the right (your left).

Phil and I sockin' it to ya during 'Eye of the Tiger'

Morgan, Grandma and Mickey warming up.

Now Mickey and Grandma have hit their stride and Morgan has a step back to observe.

Ohh! Start up the lawn mower!!

Morgan: How embarrassing...

Aunt Pat and Mickey...buttering some bread?

This has all the signs of 'Cotton-eye Joe'

Swinging that lasso!

Morgan has snagged his share of steer playing this game. He'll also stomp a hole thru your floor during the hoe down.

Mike & Aunt Nancy getting their hands in the air with Morgan...

...but beware, because Aunt Nancy will get in your face and let you know who's winning.

Alright, time to mosey on outta here.

Xmas in Buffalo

Please, Please tell Santa that I was good!

Morgan loves the singing Xmas decorations. This snowman couple sing 'We wish you a Merry Christmas', which happens to be his favorite carol.

He also enjoys the train tracks. This year he was old enough to be a junior conductor and operate the controls.

Happy Holidays from Morgan (featuring Nicole)

Tree Decorating and Hayride

Here's 2010's tree decorating event.

Morgan had everything worked out perfectly. His favorite ornaments were the ones that had holes for light bulb inserts. He was constantly switching the color of the ornament.

I dressed up in a silly outfit for a Jingle Bell 5k. No pictures please.

Mom & Morgan unwrapping Hershey kisses as they prepare for Xmas cookie making.

We went on a sleigh (hay) ride with Santa. It was tons of fun. We sang all sorts of Xmas songs and whenever there was a lyric about Santa, he would sing "I" or "my". It tickled me to no end.

Sleigh ride on the streets of town, amidst sunshine and no snow!

Are You Ready?

Look at the calendar. Do you know what month it is? Don't be a fool and say April, because it's November. Go Ahead. Think you're ready. Think that after such a long visual layoff, you can just launch back into this...you're not ready. Nothing will prepare you what comes next.

That's right!! Dancin' on the Wii!!

Put your hands up, put your hands up, everybody in the place put your hands up!!

Stretch it!

I'd say that this 'hoe down' looking routine is part of 'Cotton-Eye Joe'.

Do you know what tradition exists in our house for November? Black Friday shopping!! Do you know what that means? Morgan and Dad are home alone all day long. Commence fort building!

Welcome inside the fortress. Blink a few times, put your drink down, you're not seeing double. Bear witness to a rare moment...two light brown monkeys coexisting. Don't get too attached, it won't last.

Ohhh!!! I warned you not to get attached...ring the dinner bell!!! There were 10 little Indians, but Indian #7 (with t-shirt tucked into underwear) is cooking up monkey brains tonite!!

The Prodigy

Missy is busy out of town tomorrow nite.

Her boss called and asked if she could cover a class tomorrow nite.

As I mentioned, Missy is out of town, so it didn't work out and the call ended. Then I asked Missy if she wanted me to go take care of the class. She said, that she didn't think of that and would my boss mind if she covered for me when I was sick. (To which I replied "I don't get sick") I told her that I could take a video in and play it for the clients. Missy conceded to my silly plan and told me to get her phone.

I hollered into the living room: Morgan, do you want to teach pilates with me tomorrow nite?

Morgan: Ok. If you want to.

Then I laughed for several minutes before getting this in print to share. It's great that he has a go with the flow mentality :)
