Let's Go Fly A Kite!

One Friday in October, I was driving home from work and it was crazy windy, so I knew what we were doing when I got home! I got out the goods and we took to the air!

It's up!

Morgan passed the reigns to Mom and then signed on as a spotter for the kite.

Then the kite tail wrapped him up!

It was tough going at times, where I could not will the kite to higher feats.
(I think Morgan is even blowing it here)

Out in the street, we finally reach the heights that I envisioned.

Morgan isn't sure if the kite is coming down.

Living in a cul-de-sac allows this sort of carefree street play. It will never get old.

More Campouts

At this early Ocotber campout, everything had it's own place. There's a blanket for the backpack, one for Nacho's toy basket, one for stuffed animals and then Morgan's sleeping one, where we're reading stories.

Stop by for story time!

This one was a riot. Missy and I almost lost it when I saw this. First of all, he tucked in the Elmo's (and monkey), then he wouldn't sleep under the covers so as not to disturb them. Furthermore, the Elmo on his chest was that way when we walked in. I literally could have wet myself.

Kids sleep just fine, flash photography doesn't bother them, nor does turning on the lights for that matter, so snap as many as you want.

Ghost of Halloween Past

We had pulled out Morgan's old Halloween costumes to donate, however, he or I thought it would be fun to have one last go...

Year One: Monkey

He's barely grown since then.

Year Two: Hot dog

The arms look great!

Well these costumes did go to other kids this year and of course were a hit. This fashion show is from the 3rd week of September. Only 13 more posts until you get to see what Morgan was this year...!!

Growing up

Our college had an alumni event at the NY Mets game. Being that it's only a few hours away and it was a great deal, I went with a friend of mine. At the game, they gave out these sunglasses. Super fun.

As you can see, Morgan has already surpassed me in height. Now I know how my parents feel.

I kind of debated about posting this one. It's pretty racy, but it's also the kind of photo that turns up at your graduation or a birthday down the road.

Summer Picnic

A gorgeous Saturday in the middle of September for a summer picnic - that's right, autumn doesn't start until 10 days after this picnic.

Morgan was working his way to the top, I'm not sure sure how much farther he made it after this shot. (Not shown: me holding the ladder as firm as possible to allow ascent)

Oh that's right!! Unlimited, free, inflatable madness!
Sweet bliss.
There may have been a tag game going on here and do you know how tag games in bounce houses end?

As Pile On's!!

And do you know how days with unlimited inflatable entertainment end?
Crashing hard and sleeping long. Among the wealth of stuffed friends below are the white dog and a tiger that were obtained at a 'build-a-pet' booth at the picnic earlier that day.
An outstanding event for kids.

Excitedly Shy

I think my favorite thing about pictures like this is that Morgan does something (like build a tower) and then says 'Hey dad, get the camera, I want you to take a picture'. He's just oozing excitement, it doesn't get any better.

I don't recall what this hat was all about, but they made it at school. Since they made it at school, I don't believe that it's a dunce cap. Again, Morgan wanted his picture taken with it. Don't you love the yarn curls of hair?

Campout

I honestly cannot be sure if anyone truly follows this except for Missy's Aunt Pat, who I know is a devoted follower. Whenever I slack on getting posts up, this knowledge festers in the back of my head. Over the holiday, we were all sitting around at dinner and she said I'm so sick of 'My Mom Rocks' and no one knew what she was talking about...except for me.

Morgan loves to take his stuff and have a 'campout'. Here he is on the back deck.

Snuggled up on his pillow with monkey (in his hands) and little bear (under his chin).

This campout is from early September, I'll be uploading dozens more pictures that make up 19 posts and will take us thru halloween by the time it's over.
